Meet the Mets, Beat the Mets
Players of the Week
Jake Lamb: .458/.536/.792, 4 BB, 1 K, 2 HR, 2 2B, 6 RBI
Andrew Chafin: 3.2 IP, 8 K, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB
Sitting just two games behind Colorado in the standings, the Diamondbacks will have a chance to make a move as they go to San Diego to play the ice cold Padres. San Diego has lost 11 of their last 14 to move past San Francisco for last in the West and by scoring the least amount of runs in the NL and allowing the second most, they certainly deserve it.
Friday night at 7:10 PM Taijuan Walker will start against the ancient Jered Weaver. Saturday, the two teams will start again at 7:10 PM with Robbie Ray looking to turn things around after recent struggles against Luis Perdomo. Zack Godley will go in game three against Padres “ace” Clayton Richard, who while not being dependable at all, at least hasn’t give up 14 home runs in eight starts like Weaver has.
After that it will be back home for a quick three game set against the White Sox, who are currently fourth in the AL Central, fighting with the Royals for the right to be the worst team in the AL. While assignments haven’t been announced, it’s looking like the DBacks will face the only formidable Chicago starter, Jose Quintana, but will miss Derek Holland. Games on Monday and Tuesday will start at 6:40 PM while Wednesday will be another early get away start at 12:40 PM.
